A growing, entrepreneurial commercial real estate investment platform is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting function behind an expanding national portfolio of senior housing investments. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 4+ years of experience who is ready to grow beyond keeping the books and take on increasing responsibility within a growing investment platform.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this opportunity offers meaningful involvement in accounting operations and financial reporting, along with the ability to improve processes as the platform scales.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports at both the property and entity level, including consolidation of property-level results into entity-level financial statements
- Review financial statements and supporting schedules provided by third-party operators for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Support fund-level accounting, including capital calls, distributions, waterfall calculations, and investor allocations
- Execute month-end and year-end close processes and coordinate with external parties
- Help refine and continuously improve the accounting infrastructure, including reporting templates, schedules, the close calendar, and internal controls
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience in real estate accounting, financial reporting, or a related role
- Real estate fund accounting experience strongly preferred; public accounting experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, with a strong command of GAAP and financial statements
- Comfortable reviewing property-level financials, producing entity-level financial statements, and consolidating property results to the entity level
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple reporting deadlines
- Eager to grow with the platform and take on expanded responsibility over time
