A commercial real estate investment company is seeking an Associate, Asset Management to support the financial and operational performance of its existing real estate portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, this individual will help execute asset-level strategies across leasing, capital planning, dispositions, tenant oversight, and portfolio reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically strong real estate professional to gain broad exposure across portfolio strategy and work collaboratively with teams throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support leasing, dispositions, capital investment initiatives, and asset-level business plans across the existing portfolio
  • Underwrite prospective tenants and perform ongoing credit analysis of existing tenants
  • Build and maintain asset-level financial models, forecasts, and periodic reporting
  • Maintain portfolio-level materials and key performance metrics, including supporting quarterly earnings materials
  • Assist in preparing materials for the Board of Directors and Management Investment Committee
  • Partner with Accounting, Legal, Property Management, Construction, and other internal teams to execute asset management initiatives
  • Conduct industry, property, market, and tenant research to support portfolio-level decision-making
  • Support recurring and ad hoc projects across the organization as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate, asset management, finance, investment banking, private equity, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate, financial statements, and real estate underwriting
  • Advanced financial modeling skills
  • Experience with industrial and/or retail real estate strongly preferred
  • Experience with regulated industries or specialized-use assets is a plus
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to independently manage workstreams and effectively self-review work
  • Ability to work primarily in-office in San Diego, Monday through Thursday, with the opportunity to work remotely on Fridays
